Dave Adams - Rest in Peace

It is with deepest regret and sadness we have to inform you of the sudden passing of Dave Adams, a loyal and proud member of Old Yardleians RFC.

Dave had played for most teams in the club, usually at fly half or full back.

Many of you will have played with Dave through the years, and would know his commitment to the game on the pitch, and enjoyed his company in the bar following the game, especially when his purse came out to buy the round!

He was ever present in a Fourth team, that went unbeaten for a whole season.

When Dave finished playing he took a keen interest in the junior section, attending numerous Sunday's to support and offer guidance. From his former profession as a PE Teacher he introduced many a new player both junior and senior.

Even though in recent times Dave's health deteriorated, along with the help of his family, and friends he continued to organise a number of quizzes at the club in support of both Parkinson's Society, and indeed the club itself.

Even through his battle with Parkinson's he still found the strength and desire to attend our last home match against Woodrush RFC, 28th September 2024.
